Embroidery by my son

Filed under: Embroidery — by countrystitchin @ 4:53 pm

My kids love coming into the sewing room & creating things especially on the embroidery machine. They know how to find the designs on the computer & I then put them onto the card, after that I am only needed for hooping & checking they have threaded the machine right. I leave colour choices up to them entirely. Below is a heap of face washers that my son has done recently, enjoy ;)

He has some more to share when he gets the threads trimmed up :)

What do you do at 5 o’clock in the morning?

Filed under: Embroidery — by countrystitchin @ 1:05 pm

Why you trim up your embroidery of course LOL.

Hubby had an early start this morning so we were up at 4.20am & he left at 4.50am for work so I grabbed my pile of teatowels I had been embroidering over the last couple of days & trimmed all the jump threads up. Enjoy the pics ;) Let me know which one you like the best.

Mmmmm Spotlight

Filed under: Sewing — by countrystitchin @ 11:00 am

My favourite place to browse is Spotlight my closest store used to be over 600km’s away but there is one in the next town now, where I happen to go for my groceries, kids sport & to visit family. Damn shame that isn’t it?! lol. I was good when I visited yesterday I only bought 6mts of fabrics & I already have a plan for these ones, now thats scary!! As you can see in the pictures I like to “collect” fabrics usually its their colour & texture that sucks me in & then when I read “ON SPECIAL” well all will power goes clean out the window as fast as my money goes in their till. I did go on a fabric diet once, I lasted about 2months without buying any fabrics. Sure made up for it with notions, patterns & embroidery supplies though.

Cuboard 1 all the cotton & flannelet fabrics

Cupboard 2 all the stretch & fleece fabrics

I will work my way through it…………...maybe :D

My wonderful hubby

Filed under: Sewing — by countrystitchin @ 4:16 pm

heard me swearing & cussing over the state of my pattern collection. I have 2 boxes of them & 2 files of them as well…………..ok yes I admit I have a problem when it comes to sewing related items (shoving todays fabric purchases deep in the cupboards), hence another reason I want my kids to sew I can leave my stash to them LOL.

Anyway back to the pattern problem, by the time I find the one I want I am over that project & thinking of the next :s So being the wonderful resourceful man he is he came up with this storage system for me. Involved a trip or two to Bunnings but thats ok ;) I am slowly filling the rod & dropping hints for another about halfway down the cupboards.

The hardest part was finding the right “hanger” we knew what we wanted & ended up finding them in the curtain section, they are called cafe clips & come in packets of 7 so each time I take a trip to town I buy a few more packets & hang them up.

He certainly earnt brownie points the day he came up with this for me :D

Colouring on the go

Filed under: Uncategorized — by countrystitchin @ 5:31 pm

Having young kids of my own & travelling long distances often for sport shopping etc I know the importance of keeping them entertained & happy in the car.  Lets face it happy calm kids=happy calm Mum (&Dad) My kids love colouring & drawing in the car & I used to have pencils from the front to the back rolling about under the seats until I made them these colouring totes. They are fantastic holding an A5 size pad or the small sized flip up activity pads.

Having a tote to hold it all makes my car much tidier & easier for the kids to manage also

Hope you like them  :)

If you are wanting to order them just take a visit to my website here

Cheers,

Tina
