I had mail………

Filed under: Embroidery, Sewing, craft — by countrystitchin @ 8:11 pm

of the nice variety today :) Firstly there was a large package & I knew it would be my threads from Janka over at Theda-threads & woohoo it was soooo happy. 180 spools of thread to categorize & then sort into my storage drawers by colour & shades. Janka even kindly donated another spool of purple thread for all my charity embroidery I do. THANKYOU Janka. I was grinning like the Cheshire cat, the kids helped & then we did a count of ALL my embroidery threads & well ummmmm I now have 350 spools of it. Lucky for me I embroider every day so it is justifiable isnt it ?? :? All the box’s of threads :)

contents of the box’s

Second great item to come in the mail was my tea towels from Deedles. Over on Bad Girls of Sewing we did a tea-towel swap & mine arrived today I love them.

Thanks Deedles :)

Johns Apron

Filed under: Embroidery, Sewing, fashion — by countrystitchin @ 6:59 am

Jacob’s Nan asked me if I would do an adult apron for Jacobs dad as they do everything together & Jacob loves to dress the same as Dad.

Of course I obliged :) & very happily. We did it the same colour as Jacobs.

I think it may be a father’s day pressie for John, unless it gets the better of Di & he gets it early LOL

Keeping your pets safe

Filed under: tips & tricks — by countrystitchin @ 6:16 am

Keep your pets safe in your sewing area. Buy a new toilet brush from the cheapie store and at the end of your sewing time use it to run around your sewing area to pick up any loose threads so that your animals don’t ingest the threads and end up at the vets with an impacted digestive system. This can save you thousands of dollars in doctor bills but *MOST* importantly can save your pets life.

Your pets Thank You in advance.

Visited the vets today

They were great in letting me leave them there while I had my new tattoo done, saved me another trip tomorrow as its over 50k’s one way to Geraldton.

Stitches had her stitches removed & has healed wonderfully. Not a mark to be seen.

Boof was micro chipped & had his first round of needles. He sooked when we left him & apparently sooked a bit in the time he was there. But they loved him. And well who couldnt love him? Just look at the beautiful boy

Tattooing

Filed under: life in general, something other than sewing — by countrystitchin @ 8:11 pm

I have long had a love affair of tattoos, my Dad is heavily tattooed & from a very young age all I wanted for my birthday was a tattoo.

Finally when I left home at 16 & with my parents permission I got one, on my left thigh, a bird with flowers & hearts. Then I got a pegasus on my left shoulder blade.

I have been hankering another one for years but wasnt 100% sure what I wanted. I finally found it but had to have it drawn up as I wanted a butterfly I had found & tribal work sorta like the pic I showed the artist & I wanted it purple. Left it with him & went back to see the drawing didnt like the first lot of tribal work it was too ?? wanted it a bit more feminine. He agreed & went back to the drawing board……….literally. Next drawing he showed me was perfect so was time to set up an appointment.

Well the appointment was today :D I wasa bit nervous as it has been soooo long since my last one & there is a fine line between pleasure & pain. BUT it was great didnt hurt any where near as much as I thought it would, but it still hurt a little. But I think I impressed him as I wasnt a big woose. Hubby was waiting for me to chicken out I think but I am so glad I had it done.

Its even better than I first imagined I reakon its freakin awesome. Thanks Eli at Abandoned Art in Geraldton

Sorry for the crappy picture I will update to a better one when I get it.

how many threads??

Filed under: Embroidery, Sewing, Sites I like to visit — by countrystitchin @ 5:23 pm

LOL was my husbands reaction when I showed him my newsletter from Theda Threads Janka is running an awesome special atm where you can get all 180 1000mtr spools for $375.95.

Are you sure you need that many was the next question, followed by whatever they are a good deal. So with no further prompting I ordered the whole set :D :D.

Janka is lovely to deal with always polite & prompt with answers & posting. Her threads are awesome I already have the verigated range & the fluro range. Think the glow in the dark ones will be next hehe. She even donated me a heap of threads to help out with all the voluntary Breast Cancer fundraising embroidery that I do for our local purple bra day.

If your into machine embroidery, or need over-locker/serger or sewing threads make sure you checkout Theda threads. I am in no way affiliated with them just a very happy customer, tell Janka Tina sent you.

Filed under: Embroidery, Sewing, craft — by countrystitchin @ 12:06 pm

Remember the pink& green fabrics from last week, well they are transformed now into a colour tote for Ava. I love the combination of these two fabrics so fresh & springy :)

After I finished the pink & green one I made this gorgeous cat one for Shayla

& such a hard one at that…………NOT!! Look at this spoilt buggar will you. Wonder what Boof will think when we get the fence built & he has to “rough” it outside? He was 7wks old on Friday how many more weeks until all that will fit in the bed is his head?? LOL It’s Natasha’s dolls bed BTW & I do have photos of stitches in it somewhere also. The pink laced edged sheets really does well for his manly image doesnt it :)
