These turned out great. I only took a photo of 1 but there were 14 I did for the class & teacher. The teacher doesnt know she is getting one its a surprise from the kids. pb130003-small.jpg

Our school is a District high school so it has classes from kindy to yr 10. Some of our kids leave for boarding school in yr 7 attending the same one their parents attended. Most stay on for high school.

As far as I know this is the first year they have done shirts for the yr 7’s I hope its the start of a new tradition as moving from primary to high school is such a big step.

They are all a great bunch of kids & I wish them well in future endeavors.

The standard response when people find out I sew all day is “Oh I really admire people who can sew, I cant even sew a button!!” This gob smacks me but it shouldnt as even my own sister cant sew a button & yet our Mother is one of the most talented sewist I know. Buttons never fell off any of the clothing she made for us.

Now sewing on a button isnt rocket science it really is easy just take a look here & you will see, so why not grab a needle, some thread, a button  & give it a go? You never know you may end up liking it ;)

Happy stitching

I have been busy working on some shirts with Mad Cow (AKA Amanda) over at Real Mums. They are a hoot & perfectly sum up mums, kids & dads!!! If you are interested in buying them, they make awesome Christmas pressies then go to the Real Mums Shop.  They are selling fast so make sure you dont miss out!!

this is just a small sample of the shirts. Cruise on over & check the rest out. Which is your favourite? Which one sums up your family the best??

Now while your there checking out the ultra cool shirts stop in to the  Walk 4 PND page & if you are able sign up for the walk the dinner or both. You still have 8 days before the walk takes place. Being on the opposite side of the country I cant attend myself but I have donated a few prizes for the cause.

Cheerio

A monumentous acheivement

I have to brag to you all that my 12month weight loss/exercise program has been well worth it. This time last year I was a size 16 creeping up to an 18 with a 16DD bust. And miserable to boot. But not anymore!!! I am now proudly & comfortably wearing size 10 yes size 10 denim 3/4pants & size 12 t-shirts. Also down to a 14C/12D bust. To say I am happy is an understatement I am freakin’ ecstatic!!! I feel so much better in myself & so much more energy its amazing. I have dropped 17kg in weight & inches for all parts of my body.

Mind you it hasn’t been easy & yes I have had blowouts, but hey I am human what do you expect? I still have my chocolate just not as often or as in bulk quantities as I used to!! But I can fit back into my lingerie much to hubby’s delight :)

As I was typing this post the song Skinny Girls by Alan O’Day popped into my head (I do have this somewhere on a 45 record!!)

Are you old enough to remember that song too ??

you can listen to it here if you want to.

Song Lyrics: Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
[Repeat x 2.]

Skinny girls!
They’re so compact.
You can put ‘em in your pocket,
feed ‘em a snack.
Those skinny girls.

Take em’ to a drive in (drive in, drive in, drive in).
They can liven up the show (show show show)
Nobody has to know.
Now if they slow you down,
you can pick ‘em up off the ground
when you’re ready to go.

I… I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
Those skinny girls.

… love em’ I love em’ I love em’
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
Those skinny girls.

Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
I love those skinny girls (girls x 7)

Skinny girls!
You can twirl ‘em when you dance!
You can toss ‘em in the air when you make romance.
Those skinny girls.

They make you feel gigantic.
They go frantic over you.
Nothing you have to do.
When you want to be alone,
just turn ‘em to the side.
They’re easy to hide
From you.

I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
Those skinny girls.

… love em’ I love em’ I love em’
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
Those skinny girls.

Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.

Ah, skinny girls! They talk real high.
They make you cry
when they say goodbye.

I love her I love her I love her
I love her I love her I love her
That skinny girl.

I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
Those skinny girls.

Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls. Skinny girls.
I love em’ I love em’ I love em’
