Dolly

Meet the newest addition to my sewing room, her name is Dolly {yes I name all my major items in my sewing room} Isnt she just divine?! I have been hankering after a dress makers dummy for years!! One of my habby shops had them out on special & my wonderful hubby took me shopping!!! :D :D

She is fully adjustable from a size 10 to 16 height adjustable & also has a hem marker for nice straight even hems! I cant wait to try her out.

I did unpack her when we got her home to check her out & see how she worked but she has gone back into the box for now, lots of Sewing Fairy orders on the go but once they are clear I will be bringing her out again & making some thing for me

Happy Sewing

Bloomin Roses

April 30, 2008 at 10:12 pm (Sewing, fashion) (, , , )

I love the colours of the roses on this fabric. Wish I could have those coloured roses in a garden wouldnt they look fabulous?

I love this sytle of bag, & its so quick to make. I made 3 of them in one day. This also is for a celebrity only I dont know who yet. I posted 11 bags off to the Dilly Bag company & have to wait until they decide on who gets which bag. I wil let you all know as soon as I know ;)

Need to make more after I go on another fabric shopping spree. :) I have been “shopping my stash” the last couple of weeks & really enjoying the challenge of finding matching fabrics.

Happy stitching

Springtime Tote

March 17, 2008 at 2:35 pm (Sewing, fashion) (, , , , )

With the fabric I used how could it be called anything but Springtime Tote??

I love the colours & am so impressed with the way this bag turned out. Nice & roomy on the inside without being bulky on the outside.

New bag style

March 14, 2008 at 12:42 pm (Sewing, fashion)

I played around last week & came up with this style of bag, & funnily enough I had the perfect fabric for it out in the sewing stash.

This is a special bag for another reason the recipient is a very special person that I will reveal soon :)

Future Stars of the silver screen

December 13, 2007 at 1:28 pm (Sewing, fashion) (, , , , , )

Well what a night it was, last night was our schools annual concert & award night. Soooo much hard work goes into this by both teachers & students, but the results are awesome!!!

Every year I offer my sewing skills to the class’s that my kids are in for costumes, props etc. This year I made 8 dresses, 16 sleeves & a 5mt curtain with the word Censored on it. Everything turned out awesome I feel. The kids really put the effort in with practise, making props etc so I feel they deserve to have great costumes.

pc130023-small.jpg this is my DD’s class they acted out the song “The Streak”

pc130024-small.jpg this is my DS’s class they acted out “6 white boomers”

Well done kids you were all fantastic & thankyou all for the choccies, wine & card you gave me :)

Cheers

what do you get…………..

December 5, 2007 at 7:18 pm (Sewing, fashion) (, , )

When you cross your childs/ren class item for the end of year school concert , meters & meters of fabrics, giggling kids & a sewist???????

A messy sewing room is what you get ROFL plus lots of happy kids, a frazzled sewist & some great looking costumes (if I do say so myself ;) ) No photos yet going to wait till the BIG night next Wednesday & then I will share.

I do love doing the concert costumes for them after all they do all the practise & earn them so why not have good looking costumes I say. Everything I have made this year has been done with no patterns just scissors, a good eye & the machines!!!

Johns Apron

August 24, 2007 at 6:59 am (Embroidery, Sewing, fashion)

Jacob’s Nan asked me if I would do an adult apron for Jacobs dad as they do everything together & Jacob loves to dress the same as Dad.

Of course I obliged :) & very happily. We did it the same colour as Jacobs.

I think it may be a father’s day pressie for John, unless it gets the better of Di & he gets it early LOL
